Accessibility is especially important for a platform serving people with different communication styles, abilities, ages and support needs.
Our design direction
GotAlotToSay is being developed with responsive phone, tablet and web experiences; alternatives to speech-only interaction; readable layouts; clear controls; touch-friendly targets; keyboard-aware web interfaces; and communication choices that can include tapping, gestures and other supported responses.
Standards and testing
We intend to use recognized accessibility guidance, including WCAG, as a development reference and to test important workflows with assistive technologies and real users. We will not claim a particular conformance level until the relevant product has been evaluated against it.
Participant-centered accessibility
Accessibility here also means reducing unnecessary communication pressure. Activities should offer understandable choices and allow progression that respects the participant's current communication comfort.
Feedback
Accessibility feedback from participants, families, educators, clinicians and disability organizations can help identify barriers that automated checks cannot.
As GotAlotToSay grows, accessibility testing, remediation and documentation should remain part of the release process rather than a one-time launch task.
